    • Many children would be killed or injured on the job
    • The youngest children would become assistants snd were often beaten

    • Severe punishments would occure for being late
    • Children were small and could fit in the tight spaces that adults could not
    • Child Labor limitations began being made in 1833
    • 1833 the Factory Act was passed by Parliament
    • Now, children ages 9-13 were only allowed to work 8 hours a day

    • Children ages 14 to 18 could only work up to 12 hours a day
    • Children under the age of 9 were not allowed to work at all
    • Also, children were required to attend school for atleast 2 hours a day
    • At this point education was slowly becoming important
    • Most children working in factories would lose their limbs

    • In rural areas, families worked together all day long
    • When Factories came about, families would often be broken up
    • Many young women would get there hair caught in the machines and be scalped or die
